Skoda teases new Karoq crossover ahead of debut later this month

Skoda’s mid-size SUV is set to benefit from changes seen recently on the Kodiaq

Skoda has revealed new design sketches of its revised Karoq SUV ahead of a full reveal later this month. =

Introduced in late 2017 – and replacing the Yeti – the Karoq is now one of Skoda’s best-selling products, with this update ensuring it can stay ahead of newer rivals like the Nissan Qashqai and Ford Kuga. More than 500,000 examples have been produced since.

The design sketches show that it will be the front end of the Karoq that receives the most changes, receiving a larger grille – just like that seen on the recently-updated Kodiaq, Skoda’s largest SUV. The grille also adopts a new hexagonal shape, while underneath the Karoq boasts larger air intakes.

It also features slimmer LED headlights that have a new signature, and also run into the model’s grille.

Meanwhile at the rear the new Karoq benefits from a longer rear spoiler, revised bumpers and redesigned LED rear lights, which are now thinner than before.

While Skoda hasn’t had any changes on the Karoq’s interior, it’s likely to benefit from greater digitalisation, while a greater range of safety technology should be available to customers.

The updated Skoda Karoq will be repealed in full on November 30.
