Jeep Celebrates One Million Sales of Renegade and Compass with Special North Star Editions

Jeep Celebrates One Million Sales of Renegade and Compass with Special North Star Editions

Jeep is marking a major milestone in Europe with the introduction of the special edition North Star versions of its popular Renegade and Compass models. This limited edition celebrates the combined sale of one million units of the Renegade and Compass across Europe, highlighting their importance to the brand’s success in the region.

The North Star editions are designed to stand out with exclusive visual upgrades and added durability. Both models are available only in hybrid form, offering either a 48V mild-hybrid powertrain or Jeep’s 4xe plug-in hybrid system, paired with a 1.3-litre petrol engine. The mild-hybrid option produces 128bhp, while the all-wheel drive 4xe version delivers a more powerful 237bhp.

Design and Features

The North Star editions feature a distinct two-tone exterior, combining a base coat of ‘Technogreen’ metallic paint with black detailing on the bonnet decals, alloy wheels, and trim pieces. This styling continues inside, with contrasting stitching on the upholstery and 'North Star' branding on the seats. The Renegade comes with 17-inch wheels, while the Compass is equipped with 18-inch wheels, adding to the rugged and bold aesthetic.

Built for durability, the North Star models introduce high-resistance seat upholstery, which Jeep claims is up to three times stronger than the standard fabric found in other trims. This hard-wearing material is offered in cloth for the Renegade and in both cloth and vinyl options for the Compass, making the interior better suited for adventurous use.

Equipment and Technology

Standard features include a dual-pane sunroof, roof rails for added practicality, LED fog lights, and distinctive black badging. The North Star models also come with advanced parking assist systems, including front and rear sensors and parallel and perpendicular park assist, making manoeuvring in tight spaces easier.

The focus on hybrid technology is a significant part of the North Star edition, with no conventional petrol or diesel engines available. This move aligns with Jeep's broader strategy of pushing towards more sustainable and eco-friendly solutions in their line-up, emphasising innovation and environmental consciousness.

Pricing and Availability

The Renegade North Star starts at £32,699, while the Compass North Star is priced from £36,605, placing these special editions between the entry-level Altitude and higher-spec Summit trims. Orders for the North Star editions are set to open on 10th October 2024.

The North Star editions offer a mix of durable materials, hybrid technology, and distinctive styling to commemorate Jeep’s sales milestone. With orders opening soon, these models provide additional options for those looking for hybrid-only versions of the Renegade and Compass. While they sit between existing trims, they come at a higher price point, so potential buyers will need to weigh the appeal of the special edition features against the cost.
