Cupra has expanded the line-up of its new electric Born with more powerful ‘e-Boost’ models.
Joining the existing 201bhp models, e-Boost versions see the power increase to 227bhp, reducing the 0-60mph time from 7.1 to 6.4 seconds. As standard, the Born is equipped with a 58kWh battery, which allows for a range of up to 264 miles.
This Cupra is also available with a larger 77kWh battery, which sees the claimed electric range increase up to an impressive 340 miles. The Born can also charge at up to 135kW, meaning it can top up the batteries from five to 80 per cent capacity in just 35 minutes.
The Born, which is Cupra’s first EV, joins the Leon, Formentor and Ateca in its range, and is available in three trim levels – V1, V2 and V3.
Prices start from £34,715 for the V1, with standard equipment including 18-inch alloy wheels, LED lights all-round, a 12-inch touchscreen and reversing camera. Upgrade to the V2, and it adds heated front seats, an augmented reality head-up display and larger 19-inch alloys, and is available from £36,635.
At the top of the range sits the V3, which is available from £38,390, adding stylish 20-inch alloy wheels and electric bucket seats with massaging function.
Cupra has also today announced finance packages for the Born, with the model available from £399 per month over a four-year contract, and in conjunction with a £7,338 customer deposit.
The Cupra Born is now available to order, with the first deliveries expected in the next few months.
