The second-generation 3008 proved to be a turning point for Peugeot, with this mid-size SUV representing a step upmarket, both in terms of style and quality.
Peugeot’s also recently revised it further, introducing an even bolder design and additional technology to give it a more modern feel. At the same time, it’s still pleasant to drive, efficient and offers a generous amount of interior space.

What powertrains are available on the Peugeot 3008?
With petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrids available on the Peugeot 3008, there is no shortage of options on offer.
Let’s start with the petrol, which is a turbocharged 128bhp 1.2-litre unit available with a choice of a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission. It’s a pretty good all-rounder, with a 9.3-second 0-60mph time and a fuel economy figure of up to 48mpg.
As for diesel, there’s a 128bhp 1.5-litre unit offered, which again gets the choice of a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission. Peugeot claims it can return up to 60mpg, making it a very efficient option if you do plenty of miles, while it can take the 3008 to 60mph in 10.6 seconds.
Next up are the plug-in hybrids. Both use the same 1.6-litre petrol engine as their base, with a front-wheel-drive 222bhp option available alongside a range-topping 296bhp four-wheel-drive model, which is known as the Hybrid 4. This latter version is especially brisk, going from 0-60mph in under six seconds. Peugeot also claims they can travel for up to 39 miles on electricity, resulting in a fuel economy of up to 200mpg (though you will need to do the bulk of your miles on electric for this) and CO2 emissions of just 31g/km.
What trim levels are offered?
Peugeot offers a broad range of trim levels on its 3008, with equipment highlights and prices as follows.
Active Premium – from £28,690
All 3008s come with plenty of equipment, with even entry-level versions coming with 17-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, dual-zone climate control and an eight-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. You also get front and rear parking sensors, a reversing camera, electric folding mirrors, cruise control and an excellent 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.
Allure – from £30,290
Next up, the Allure gains more stylish 18-inch alloy wheels, polished stainless steel door trim inserts, tinted windows and a larger 10-inch touchscreen with satellite navigation. You also get lane keep assist, a driver attention alert and blind spot monitoring, along with LED interior lighting and half leather seats.
Allure Premium – from £30,990
The Allure Premium features keyless entry and start, a fabric-effect dashboard, blue ambient interior lighting and aluminum roof rails.
GT – from £32,790
Stylish GT models bring gloss black 18-inch alloy wheels, a black roof, twin exhaust trim and full LED headlights with an integrated ‘fog mode’. It also comes with a perforated leather steering wheel, aluminium pedals and a range of additional safety kit – including adaptive cruise control, an advanced autonomous emergency braking system and lane positioning assist.
GT Premium – from £36,290
Right at the top of the range, the GT Premium comes with larger 19-inch alloy wheels, a Focal sound system and Alcantara and leather seats. You also get a 360-degree camera system, self-parking functionality and an electric boot.
What about personalisation?
With each 3008 trim level offering a different look, there’s certainly decent scope for making your Peugeot stand out. The colour range on it isn’t the most extensive, though bold Vertigo Blue and Ultimate Red shades sit alongside more conventional black, white and grey.
You can, however, choose the alloy wheels in a range of finishes, while a ‘Black Pack’ is available on GT models, and brings a full ‘blacked-out’ look for a reasonable £400. Inside, you can choose a full Mistral Leather interior, while a Nappa red leather package is available too – albeit at a rather steep £200.
More conventional optional extras available include a £900 panoramic sunroof and Night Vision technology – which is able to pick up any hazards in the road with its heat-sensing cameras – for £1,300. Advanced Grip Control, which helps to provide greater traction in poor conditions and terrains is also available for £470.
