A car that heats up quickly can be a big bonus, but another must during the colder months is heated seats. Particularly if they’re leather, there is nothing worse than having to jump in on your car on a frosty morning and having to sit on a cold seat for the next half an hour or so.
Not so long ago, heated seats were reserved for expensive high-end models, but increasingly it’s a feature available on cars of all shapes and sizes. Here’s 10 worthy cars to consider that are available with them.
Citroen C5 Aircross
Citroen has comfort as one of its key priorities, and while this largely equates to this brand’s silky-smooth ride, Citroen also aims to make its occupants’ feel as agreeable as possible.
The C5 Aircross is a fantastic example of this, and it’s a superb family wagon thanks to its spaciousness and comfort. While heated seats aren’t available as an individual option, they’re offered as part of a £1,770 optional package that also adds brown leather upholstery, as well as a massaging driver’s seat.
Vauxhall Astra
The Vauxhall Astra is one of Britain’s most popular hatchbacks, and the stylish model has got even more appealing this year thanks to an update that’s introduced revised styling and new more powerful and efficient engines.
It’s also available with a number of handy winter features – including a heated windscreen (meaning de-icing will become a thing in the past) while heated front and rear seats are fitted as standard to Elite Nav versions, which are priced from £23,955.
Skoda Kodiaq
If you’re looking for a large seven-seat SUV on a tighter budget, the Skoda Kodiaq is a fantastic choice – offering superb comfort, practicality and versatility for all the family.
While entry-level SE versions miss out on having heated seats, with the mid-spec SE L you’ll get the fronts heated. If you want to make winter even more bearable, you could choose the heated windscreen and heated washer nozzles pack (£340), along with a heated steering wheel for as little as £155.
Hyundai Kona Hybrid
Hyundai already has one of the most extensive electrified offerings of any manufacturer, and that’s recently expanded with the introduction of the Kona Hybrid crossover.
It can return up to 56.5mpg on the combined cycle, while also having low CO2 emissions of 90g/km. And the top-spec Premium SE is a fantastic model to choose over the winter months, with this version coming with luxuries such as heated seats and a heated steering wheel. This range-topping model also features ventilated front seats – essentially meaning you can cool them, too. While it’s not much use over winter, they could prove to be exceptionally useful in the summer.
MG ZS EV
MG’s first electric car has proven to be a surprise for many – offering a decent range, impressive performance, and importantly, a seriously low list price.
Prices start from £22,245 once the government’s electric car grant has been deducted, which makes this one of the most affordable electric cars on sale. It’s the top-spec ‘Exclusive’ version you need for heated seats for the winter months, while it also comes with a whole host of other high-end kit – including blind spot monitoring, a panoramic glass roof and adaptive cruise control.
