Prices announced for new Dacia Jogger seven-seater

Practical MPV is the UK’s cheapest seven-seater

Dacia has announced that prices for its brand new Jogger seven-seater will start from just £14,995.

It’s the first time the Renault-owned budget brand has sold a seven-seater in the UK, with Dacia claiming the model offers a ‘blend of estate car practicality, MPV spaciousness and SUV styling’.

Despite being based on the same CMF-B platform that underpins the Renault Clio, it’s been extended to 4.5 metres long, while it still comes with funky styling and clever modular roof rails that can double up as roof bars to carry the likes of skis and bikes.

Inside, the Jogger promises 'unrivalled interior space’ for a large family, with seven adults said to be able to sit in comfort. There are also more than 60 possible seating configurations, while the boot measures up to 1,819 litres with the rear seats folded.

At launch the Jogger will only be sold with one engine – a 108bhp turbocharged 1.0-litre petrol, though Dacia has previously said that it would gain a hybrid powertrain in the future.

With prices starting from £14,995, the Jogger is comfortably the UK’s most affordable new seven-seater car, while its prices even undercut significantly smaller cars like the Ford Fiesta and Vauxhall Corsa.

That low price buys an Essential version, though it still gets a decent amount of equipment, including LED headlights, air conditioning, cruise control, rear parking sensors and automatic emergency braking.

The mid-spec Comfort model brings the aforementioned modular roof rails, automatic wipers, a reversing camera, and heated and electric door mirrors. It also features keyless entry, climate control, blind spot warning and an eight-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

At the top of the range, the special edition Extreme SE model is priced from £17,395, and gains black 16-inch alloy wheels, heated front seats and an upgraded media system with satellite navigation and wireless smartphone mirroring.

The new Dacia is available to pre-order now with a £99 refundable deposit, with the firm also covering the cost of the first service for customers who sign up. First deliveries are expected in Spring 2022.
