Kia has announced that its updated Ceed range will start from £20,105.
The entire range - including Ceed hatchback, Sportswagon (SW) estate and ProCeed five-door shooting brake - has been revised, bringing a sharper look and more interior technology. The exterior of the car has been overhauled, with a reprofiled bonnet and a redesigned grille combining to give the Ceed a fresh new design. It wears Kia’s new logo at both front and rear for the first time, too.
Things kick off with the ‘2’ model, which is available on both hatch and Sportwagon models. Available with the choice of either a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol or a 1.6-litre turbocharged diesel with mild-hybrid technology, the ‘2’ - priced from £20,105 for the hatchback and £20,805 for the Sportswagon - includes 16-inch alloy wheels, a leather-trimmed steering wheel and an eight-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
There’s also an additional ‘2 Nav’ trim which builds on the regular ‘2’ level with a USB fast charger in the front centre console as well as a 10.25-inch touchscreen navigation system. This is priced at £24,045.
Move up to ‘3’ specification and a more powerful 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine becomes available, fitted with either a six-speed manual or seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Priced between £23,795 and £27,410, this grade includes 17-inch alloy wheels, rain-sensing wipers and dual automatic air conditioning.
The Ceed hatchback range is topped by GT Line, which brings 17-inch black alloy wheels, heated front seats and steering wheel and a sporty D-cut steering wheel. GT Line cars cost from £24,625 to £27,585.
The ProCeed, meanwhile, combines practicality and a dynamic drive. It’s offered in three trim levels - GT-Line, GT-Line S and GT - with all incorporating a sporty look. Entry-point GT-Line cars come with a 1.5-litre petrol engine and are priced between £25,480 and £27,330. Heated front seats and steering wheel are included as standard, as are 17-inch alloy wheels and the larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
GT-Line S - priced at £30,240 - gains larger alloy wheels and LED bi-function headlights, as well as an electric tilting and sliding sunroof. Inside, there are 10-way power-adjustable front seats with a memory function on the driver’s side.
Finally, there’s the ProCeed GT, which is powered by a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine with 201bhp. Priced from £30,280, it sits as the range-topping ProCeed variant and includes a wide range of standard equipment including 18-inch alloys with red centre caps, red inserts for the front grille and diffuser, twin exhausts and a sporty interior trimmed in black leather and faux suede with contrast red stitching.
