SUVs and crossovers now make up a huge part of Hyundai’s line-up, and there are a wide range of options to suit all types of buyers.
Going from affordable options to EVs to seven-seat hybrid SUVs, if you want a model of this type, there will likely be a Hyundai for you. Let’s take a look at what’s on offer…
Bayon – from £20,520
Hyundai’s most affordable new crossover is the Bayon. It’s a recently-introduced model to the brand’s range, and is based on the same platform as the i20 supermini, and impresses with its roomy boot, generous equipment levels and funky styling.
Priced from just over £20,000, you get a lot of car for your money, while the Bayon comes equipped with a range of mild-hybrid petrol engines, which will help to reduce your fuel bills.
Kona – from £21,615
The most diverse of all of Hyundai’s cars, the compact Kona crossover is offered with four derivatives – petrol, hybrid, EV and a high-performance N model, which uses the same setup as the superb i30 N hot hatchback.
Offering a smart design and great equipment, you can choose to go sensible with the regular car, or wild with the N model, which is one of the most fun crossovers on the market to drive. The Kona Electric also deserves special mention for its supreme 300-mile range between charges. Little wonder it’s now one of the most popular new EVs.
Tucson – from £29,110
The most popular car in Hyundai’s range, the Tucson is a car that’s really stepped up its game in the family SUV sector in recent years. This latest model is a hugely stylish option, while it’s also kitted out with more technology and a far more upmarket interior than ever before.
At the same time, it’s impressively roomy, with a big boot and plenty of space in the rear seats, while it’s available with a wide range of hybrid options, including mild, full and plug-in hybrid options – the latter able to travel for around 30 miles on electricity.
Santa Fe – from £40,685
The only seven-seater in Hyundai’s line-up, the Santa Fe is ideal for large families wanting plenty of space. This latest version is now available as a hybrid or a plug-in hybrid – a regular diesel remains available too – while there are also all-wheel-drive options available for those wanting extra capability.
It offers a vast amount of interior space, with adults even able to sit relatively comfortably in the third row. Its interior also feels upmarket, while the sheer amount of kit included is seriously impressive – including heated seats, an electric boot and premium sound system.
IONIQ 5 – from £37,420
The most radical in Hyundai’s current range, the electric IONIQ 5 is a model that blurs the boundaries between a conventional SUV and a hatchback. It’s a seriously bold piece of design, and a car that stands out wherever it goes, while getting a futuristic interior too.
A bespoke electric car platform allows for a vast amount of cabin space, while 350kW rapid charging capability makes it one of the fastest-charging cars on the road today. A range of options are available, with the flagship models able to travel nearly 300 miles between charges.
