We say Van-based MPV with tons of practicality and versatility as well as a good range of engines, but not a looker.Performance Two turbocharged diesels; 90 and 110bhp offer, and they are more popular choices than the capable but slightly less powered petrol.Emissions The diesels will not break the bank but it has been left behind a little by more frugal competitors.Driving There isn’t a huge amount of body roll and it is surprisingly agile for a van-based car. Not the most involving drive but very few MPVs are.Feel Eerily quiet despite the box-like shape. Peugeot has done a good job with in-cabin insulation for the Partner Tepee.Space Plenty of room for three in the back, and two extra (strictly child) seats can be added on some models. As a five-seat MPV it is spacious and practical.Equipment ABS and power steering are useful, but you’ll need to move up the specification levels for air con and front fog lights.Price Running costs are high and most will need to spend extra to get better equipment levels. Initial prices are good at around £12,000.Quality Solid but drab, the Partner Tepee’s van origins are evident in the build. Hard-wearing materials are found throughout which is ideal for family or work use.Safety No stability control is a surprise, ABS and front and side airbags as standard ensure there is adequate safety provision.Pros Practical, spacious, willing engines, surprisingly good drive.Cons Van-based, and this shows in the trim and low equipment levels. Inefficient engines.Alternatives Fiat Doblo, Kia Carens, Citroen Berlingo Multispace.
