We say The SLS is a large supercar that is fast, grippy and classy.Performance The car has a very impressive 6.2-litre V8 which produces 563bhp and is connected to an AMG double-clutch automatic transmission. With this the SLS does 0-60mph in just 3.8 seconds and can go on to a top speed of 197mph.Emissions The supercar has a combined fuel economy of just 21mpg, while CO2 emissions are recorded at 308g/km.Driving As you’d expect the SLS is impressively fast yet usually retains lots of grip thanks to its massive tyres, plus onboard features like the advanced suspension and traction control system onboard.Feel Even with all that power onboard the SLS feels very assured but allows you to have some fun at the same time. The steering is overall good but maybe not quite as sharp as some rival supercars.Space The cabin is cramped inside with headroom compromised by the two gull-wing doors. The boot meanwhile offers a meagre 176 litres in loading capacity.Equipment Loads of luxury equipment comes with the SLS. Examples include alloy wheels 19” at the front, 20” at the rear) plus satellite navigation and keyless ignition.Price The SLS is listed at £168,395.Quality The cabin is somewhat underwhelming for an expensive supercar, with some parts looking very similar to those found on the much cheaper Mercedes C-Class range. Also while the engine sounds great the sound is never seems suppressed inside. On the plus side it is very comfortable and everything should work reliably.Safety Has one of the best safety kits offered for a supercar, the SLS provides eight airbags, advanced stability control amongst its list of features.Pros Superb performance, very grippy, comfortable on all types of road, V8 engine sounds fantastic.Cons Interior is nothing special and lacks sophistication and the gull-wing doors are impractical if you’re not above average height.Alternatives Ferrari 458 Italia, Porsche 911 Turbo
