We say The Ferrari 458 Italia is the last word in supercars.Performance With its 4.5-litre V8 it’s predictably fast, but the way it handles in traffic and at low speeds is just as impressive – the 458 Italia is an incredibly flexible car.Emissions The obligatory 300g/km-plus and 20mpg is possible. That’s a huge improvement on the 458’s predecessor however.Driving The 458 gives an extremely comfortable ride, especially considering the 200mph it tops. Its tonnes of grip coupled with the F1-inspired traction control make it easy to drive.Feel It’s reasonably quiet at lower speeds, louder at higher. This isn’t a bad thing however, the Ferrari engine sounds amazing.Space The Ferrari 458 Italia is surprisingly spacious for a two-seat coupe, with lots of storage space at a very un-supercar-like 230 litres.Equipment Hi-tech, hi-luxury high specifications.Price The 458 costs £170K to buy. If you can afford to buy it you’re not likely to be troubled by running costs.Quality Ferrari build quality is very reliable and the materials are all top notch.Safety Ferrari says that due to its traction and stability control systems, it’s unlikely to crash in the first place. But in case it does, all the standard airbags are fitted.Pros Extremely flexible, very spacious, engine sounds fantastic.Cons Steering wheel is overly-complicated.Alternatives Aston Martin DB9, McLaren MP4-12C, Porsche 911
